Pioneering: the new Eppli Haus opens in Stuttgart in 2024

Auction house, expert center and flagship store offer a unique shopping and service experience

Germany's leading auction house Eppli will open the new Eppli Haus next year. In the former Spielwaren-Kurtz building at Sporerstraße 8, the company will bring together all product categories in an area of 2,000 square meters, thus bundling its 45 years of expertise under one roof.

The family-run company invested a great deal of time and passion in the development of this forward-looking concept. Ferdinand Eppli, Managing Director of the family business, explains: "In the new Eppli Haus, which extends over six floors, we will focus on four main areas, including auctions, an attractive flagship store, an exclusive jeweler and a comprehensive range of services."

Exclusive jeweler for private sales

Throughout Germany, Eppli is the first port of call for jewelry enthusiasts and watch collectors in particular. A highlight of the new location is the jeweler specializing in private sales, which offers an exquisite selection of treasures. An in-house goldsmith's and watchmaker's workshop offers an all-round service from repairs to new creations.

Auction house and expert center

Eppli's core business includes international auctions in a wide range of categories, which will take place every Saturday in the modern auction room of the new Eppli House. Germany's largest expert center is connected to the auction area. This is where the appraisal, purchase or consignment of objects for auction takes place. The categories include jewelry, watches, designer fashion and accessories, art and antiques as well as coins.

At the same time, location optimization and commitment to retail

Eppli has been an integral part of Stuttgart's cityscape for 45 years; the family's company has made its mark in the retail sector. What began as a small family business has developed into one of the largest and most renowned full-service providers for tangible assets and investments on a national and international level. With the opening of the Eppli Haus, the company is taking another strategic step with a promising future. Ferdinand Eppli has been harboring the vision of bundling all expertise at a single address for some time now. According to Eppli, the expert center is well frequented every day and is bursting at the seams. The capacities of the auction rooms are now also exhausted - for this reason alone, the move to Eppli Haus was a logical one. In addition, the shopping experience will be more attractive for customers as they will no longer have to go back and forth between the individual city center locations.

In the former Kurtz building, an ideal property was finally found in a prime location: From the second basement floor to the third floor, the various business areas and departments cover an area of around 2,000 square meters. The main entrance and the main façade are located on Sporerstraße; a second smaller building front faces Stuttgart's market square. Eppli will thus characterize the facades of a central hotspot in the state capital. The Safelounge and a small office space will remain at their current location at Marktplatz 6.

This forward-looking move is also a clear message with regard to the future of retail: "We see great potential for our new location at Sporerstraße 8," says Ferdinand Eppli. "The high customer frequency between Markthalle, Dorotheenquartier and Markplatz is ideal for a retail location. With the Eppli Haus, we are making a clear commitment to retail and are consciously investing in a special shopping experience that we want to offer our customers locally. In the age of digital retail, we firmly believe in a physical presence and interpersonal interaction. Our products want to be experienced 'live'."

Renowned Stuttgart architecture firm Blocher Partners responsible for the conversion

Eppli engaged the renowned Stuttgart-based architecture firm Blocher Partners, which has excellent references in the fields of interior design and façade construction, to plan and implement the conversion. Among other things, the company was responsible for the The company was responsible for the redesign of specialist stores of well-known companies such as Bucherer and the BOSS outlet store in Metzingen, as well as for the façade and interior design of the EmiLu Design Hotel in Stuttgart. The renovation is scheduled to begin in spring 2024, with the relocation and opening of the Eppli Haus planned for the second half of the year. A traditional store will therefore continue to have a home at this address - and open a new chapter in its history.
