CHINA, Magnificent silver jug with jade inlays. 950 silver.
Jade: 19th century; jug: early 20th century. Gilded silver jug with an impressive presence, richly decorated with reliefs and gemstones. The finely crafted carvings in light celadon-colored jade with a slight grayish tinge accentuate the piece both as a sculpturally worked group of gourds on the lid knob and in the form of two medallions on the front sides. Hallmarked on the underside for items exported from Czechoslovakia from 1922 onwards, with a fineness mark of 950. Height approx. 38 cm. Signs of age and wear.
