"Classic Car Auction": Eppli auctions exclusive classic cars at Mühlhausen Castle for the first time

Classic Car Auction

They have style, character and that certain something: vehicles from past decades inspire savvy collectors and car fans alike. The Stuttgart-based company and auction house Eppli will be auctioning off some special classics at the "Classic Car Auction" on June 29, 2024 from 3 pm at Mühlhausen Castle in Mühlacker, east of Pforzheim. The exclusive special auction will be accompanied by a supporting program for the whole family around the castle, starting at 10 am. The highlights of the auction are a Ferrari 330 GTC from 1964, a Mercedes Benz Pagoda and a Corvette C2 Cabrio from 1965. There is also a motorcycle on offer - a BMW K100RS motorcycle built in 1982. Vehicles can still be offered for the auction at the moment.

Some cherish and care for their vehicle in the shelter of a garage, enjoying the sight and the perfectly shaped beauty of a car from the 1950s, 60s, 70s or 80s. Others love to regularly tinker with their vehicle and enjoy the special driving experience. Whether collector or car fan - they will all get their money's worth at the "Classic Car Auction" on June 29.

Castle and outer bailey: a stylish setting for a special event

Eppli is working together with the Rauschmayer Jewellery Group for this auction. Like Eppli, the Pforzheim-based wedding ring manufacturer is a family business, and Mühlhausen Castle is owned by the Rauschmayer family, who organize events there. It is a location that offers sufficient space for the 20 to 30 vehicles that will be auctioned off on that Saturday - and the castle also provides a stylish and therefore suitable setting for the exclusive special auction. That is why Ferdinand B. Eppli and Rico Rauschmayer have therefore planned a special event together: Previews of the vehicles will be possible from Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The auction on the following Saturday will take place inside the castle's outer bailey. Places for participation in the auction are limited.

Around the castle, guests will be entertained with live music and can enjoy food and drinks at food trucks, in the open-air café or at the wine bar. Speaking of wine: anyone dressed in the style of the 1960s to 1980s for the "Classic Car Auction" will receive a free glass of Schloss Mühlhausen wine. Of course, the classic cars are also a topic outside the actual auction. The Eppli experts will take all interested parties on a tour through automotive history.

Mix of high-priced treasures through to vehicles with no minimum price

"Our special auction includes not only classic cars, but also youngtimers and many different classics. We deliberately don't just want to offer high-priced premium models, but rather put together a nice mix of very different vehicles that will appeal to a wide audience," explains Ferdinand B. Eppli, Managing Director of the family business.

The exhibits include vehicles for which no starting price has been set. This means that anyone and everyone can bid the smallest amounts and perhaps even pick up a bargain. There are also cars with a starting price, from which the auction of the vehicle begins. Some of the vehicles on offer belong to the premium segment, including exclusive models from certain brands that appeal primarily to collectors and are interesting as an investment. These vehicles include the Ferrari 330 GTC from 1964, the Mercedes Benz Pagoda and the Corvette C2 Cabrio, built in 1965.

With the special auction of classic cars, Eppli is opening up another business segment. However, classic cars are not entirely new to the company. Many an estate that has been auctioned off in recent years has included a car. However, there has not yet been an exclusive auction for this segment. This is why Eppli brought in a proven and experienced expert in the form of motor vehicle expert and Classic Data appraiser Peter Beckert. Eppli is also working together with Nürnberger Leasing GmbH on this auction.

Further vehicle consignments are welcome

The idea for the "Classic Car Auction" has been maturing for some time. "We have been working with many of our customers for many years and are always in contact with them," says Eppli. "As a result, we receive offers for exclusive vehicles from time to time." At the same time, there were occasional inquiries as to whether Eppli also had classic cars in its portfolio. After all, Rico Rauschmayer and Ferdinand B. Eppli were also in contact. Rauschmayer is offering the Ferrari 330 GTC from 1964 and a 1974 Fiat 500 Abarth conversion from his collection of classic cars at the auction.

Other consignors include collectors offering several vehicles as well as car fans who only want to sell a single car - perhaps to make room for a new automobile. And the doors for consignments are not yet closed: Anyone wishing to consign a classic vehicle is still very welcome at Eppli. Information on consignments and the Classic Car Auction is available directly from the Eppli experts at the following contact: Tel: 0711-997 008 441, e-mail: classiccar@eppli.com.
