Description
Porcelain vase. CHINA, 1870s or earlier. With a pair of handles attached to the side of the neck. Painted on the front in the colors of the Famille verte with an ideal landscape and figural staffage. In the foreground is a monastery complex with a pagoda between trees in front of a rocky panorama. There is calligraphy of a poem on the reverse. Imported to Hong Kong in 1968 and acquired by the owner in 1978. Original certificate enclosed. Condition: with all kinds of signs of age and use, e.g. heavily worn, especially the gilding on the rim and on the handles is almost completely rubbed off, the glaze, the painting and the calligraphy are also rubbed, the rim is worn, there are also some manufacturing irregularities and black firing points.
