HOLY APOSTLE Westphalia or Lower Saxony, 15th/16th century, softwood, carved in the round, older polychrome paint largely worn away, standing full-length figure of a bareheaded apostle; his characteristic attribute in the formerly outstretched right hand is lost, yet the conception of the figure and particularly the facial type suggest the depiction of an apostle, H: 53 cm. Signs of age.
