BARBEDIENNE, FERDINAND 1810-1892, Louis XV style mantel set, Fire-gilt bronze, slightly asymmetrical, florally decorated case on a curved base, crowned at the top by Venus looking at herself in a mirror, clockwork with spring suspension and striking on the hour and half hour, stamped on the back plate: 'J.E. Dupont, Paris', a pair of three-light candlesticks as side plates, in matching design, each piece of the set marked: 'F. Barbedienne'. HxWxD: 47/30/20 cm. Slight signs of age and wear, movement tarnishes briefly, spring suspension of the pendulum damaged.
