Old Germany - Poetry album from the late 18th century with at least 16 recognizable noble families

Item number: 1111726

Old Germany - Poetry album from the late 18th century with at least 16 recognizable noble families. An absolute rarity for archivists, (ancestor) researchers and history collectors! Presumably based on a pencil note from the estate of the great-great-grandmother Caroline von Kreckowitz (Silesia), born von Rochow (Brandenburg, Mark Brandenburg). This poetry album contains verses of poetry, dedications, greetings and art with signature, date + place of countless ladies and personalities from upper and middle-class circles from predominantly northern and eastern territories of old Germany. The sheets are marked with page numbers and assigned to a name register, which was handwritten on the last pages of the album. The following signatures, among others, are legible: Wilhelmine von Prittwitz, 1792, Silesian (p. 151); Wilhelmina von Vaerst, 1792, Lower Rhine-Westphalian (p. 155); Joseph Leopold and Antonette von Rochow, 1790, Mark Brandenburgian (pp. 170-171); Friderica von Frentzcky, 1790 (p. 173); Louisa von Sydow, 1790, Brandenburgian (p. 175); Johanna von Borwitz (possibly Borewitz), 1790, Kurland-Prussian (p. 190); Helena Charlotte von Roth, 1796 (p. 204); Helena von Tschammer, 1790, Silesian (p. 205); Charlotte and Marianne Schumann (possibly descendants of Friedrich August Gottlob Schumann, German writer), 1794 (pp. 211/213); Bernardine Romberg (singer?), 1795 (p. 219); Lotte Amalie von Braxein, Prussian (p. 260); F. C. G. von Haslingen, 1799, Prussian (p. 263); unknown cousin von Gillern, 1793, Bohemian-Silesian (p. 268); Augusta von Flemming (?), 1792, Pomeranian (p. 303); Jeanette de Steinmetz, 1793 (pp. 317-318); Amalie von Tschirschky, 1792, Silesian-Bohemian (pp. 327-328). Leather binding with gold details and the initial 'C', a bit damaged, pages somewhat discolored by light and slightly patched, with page edge gilding. In very good condition despite signs of age and wear. 19.5 x 11.5 cm.
