SERIZAWA, KEISUKE (1895-1984) Calendar from 1969 in the form of a folder with 12 monthly pages. This hand-printed calendar was printed on handmade Japanese paper by Japanese katazome master Keisuke Serizawa. The katazome technique is a traditional Japanese stencil technique for dyeing fabric or paper, in which a rice or paste paste is applied through a hand-cut stencil (“kata”) to protect the underlying material from dye. This version of the calendar was produced for the car dealer YANASE & CO,.LTD. TOKYO JAPAN. Signs of age and wear, folder creased at the corners.
