Eppli supports charity auction on Mallorca: Almost 10,000 euros for the JoyRon Foundation and children in need

On April 5, 2025, Eppli supported a fundraising event on Mallorca: as part of an exclusive charity gala dinner at the Finca Son Mir near Palma, Ferdinand Eppli hosted an atmospheric evening as auctioneer. Signed boxing gloves from Tyson Fury and Mike Tyson, a tennis shirt from Rafael Nadal, a yacht trip on the Mediterranean, a helicopter flight over Mallorca, luxury hotel stays, works of art and much more were auctioned off. At the end of the event, almost 10,000 euros were raised for the JoyRon Foundation, which supports disadvantaged children on the Balearic Islands.

The foundation looks after children who have had traumatic experiences, are growing up in financially difficult circumstances or without parental care. The organization also helps seriously ill children by giving them and their families special moments and fulfilling (last) wishes.

How did the Stuttgart-based auction house Eppli get involved? "A long-time friend of our company, who now lives in Mallorca, is active in the JoyRon Foundation. When no auctioneer was found on the island for the planned auction, she turned to us," reports Ferdinand Eppli. It was a matter of honor that he accepted immediately - "after all, fundraising auctions are a tradition for us," says Ferdinand Eppli.

Charity auctions under prominent patronage

Eppli has been supporting charitable organizations and foundations for decades and regularly holds charity auctions - often under the patronage of celebrities. Well-known personalities such as the former Minister President Lothar Späth, the former Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Diane Duchess of Württemberg, Minister President Winfried Kretschmann and Dr. Auma Obama, Barack Obama's half-sister, have been guest auctioneers in the service of the good cause. The family business has implemented numerous charity projects to date - for example, it has supported Dr. Auma Obama's Sauti-Kuu Foundation, the Dr. Hans Fritz Foundation and the renovation of Stuttgart's collegiate church or, in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the Stuttgart Citizens' Foundation's chat phone.

Sustainable social commitment through own foundation

Almost 20 years ago, Eppli established its own charitable organization, the Eppli & Hopf Foundation, which has set itself the task of providing quick and unbureaucratic support to people from the region who are in need through no fault of their own. "We are particularly keen to help those whose lives have taken a dramatic turn due to illness or other strokes of fate. We see social commitment as an integral part of our corporate responsibility," explains Ferdinand Eppli.

This attitude is also reflected in the auction house's claim: "We appreciate values" - a guiding principle that has a double meaning: Eppli not only appreciates the current market value of various objects, but also has a deep appreciation for people, their stories and special things.
