L'ARBRE À PAIN Pair of figures 'Cat' and 'Puss in Boots', 20th century, Two handcrafted figures, 'Puss in Boots' and 'The Cat Lady,' both standing upright on two legs, mounted on a velvet-covered, square base. The bodies are predominantly made of wood, with paperweight eyes and detailed carving. The 'Puss' is dressed in brocade with lace borders, while the 'Cat Lady' wears a floral dress with lace trim; both are adorned with pearl and stone appliqués. Each bears the label 'Larbre à Pain - Peint à la main - Made in France.' Height: 39 cm each. Slight signs of age.
