HERMÈS silk scarf 'LES CAVALIERS D'OR', by Dimitri Rybaltchenko, design first published in 1975. Current retail price: €530. 100% silk. Designed in 1975 at the request of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the exhibition ‘The Gold of the Scythians’, later shown at the Grand Palais in Paris in 1976. Inspired by the sophisticated goldsmithing of the Scythians with typical motifs such as horsemen and hunting animals (lions, stags, deer). Depicted on the carré: hair combs, pectorals, amulets, garment clasps. 90 x 90 cm. Hand-rolled hems. Signs of wear present.
