HANDLED BOWL WITH MATCHING UNDERPLATE
Probably Bohemia (North Bohemia), late 19th century, colorless glass, free-blown, rich cut decoration with faceted walls and ornamental details, polychrome enamel painting and gilding, two-piece ensemble consisting of a handled vase and a matching round underplate, the vase: conical shape with a slightly flared rim and two faceted C-scroll handles attached on the sides, the front and back sides are masterfully decorated with a Decorated with a polychrome enamel design in the shape of a cornucopia, from which lush floral arrangements and various fruits emerge. The underplate: flat shape with a slightly raised rim, the center with a cut star decoration. The mirror is decorated, corresponding to the vase, with four symmetrically arranged cornucopia motifs and fine vine painting. Both pieces feature a delicate gold rim. The painting is characterized by relief enamel and vibrant colors, typical of high-quality export products from Bohemian glassworks, such as Moser, Carlsbad, or Meyr’s Neffe. Vase: H: 15 cm.
