Designprodukte – Was ist das genau?

Design products - What is that exactly?

By design products we mean the most diverse decoration and furnishing items for your home, which were not only designed by renowned manufacturers or artists, but at the same time have an extraordinary design. Often, these are particularly unique products, which were only available in a small edition, which in turn entails a high collector's value. However, this is not the case with all design products and also depends on other factors such as the condition or age of the respective design product.

Grandiose design products at Eppli

As you may have already noticed, you will find a colorful selection of the most diverse design works in our assortment. Some of them are whimsical, others look modern and yet others have an almost futuristic touch. At this point we would like to introduce you to a few of our absolute favorite design products:

  • Electric grandfather clock from the company Kienzle International:
It comes in a metal case with a glass front and visible signs of age. Inside the clock, the white hands and silver clock times were attached to a wooden plate, which purely visually resembles a cork wall. Definitely a very fancy design!
  • Wardrobe cabinet made of mahogany and bird's eye maple:
Comes from the 20th century and was produced in Vienna. The red-brown color scheme of the cabinet is particularly impressive, as well as the intricately decorated framing on the doors. The bronze hardware that allows you to open the doors is also a visual highlight.
  • Unique table lamp:
The base was made of wood and probably modeled after a standing bird. This can be seen well in the black "wings" and white "feet". The bulb itself, on the other hand, is screwed into a glass rounding at the top of the body, which is supposed to represent the bird's head. In general, the design is strongly based on the structure of modern art objects.
In addition to these three special design products, you will find other unusual items in our assortment. Browse through our store at your leisure and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Important note: We carry the various design products only once in the assortment. So do not take too long to make your decision - otherwise the desired design product could be out of stock!

Age of the individual design products

As a rule, design products are not antique relics, but were instead produced during the last decades. To be precise, the development of these particular treasures only slowly picked up speed in the second half of the 20th century. So, in the end, it is not the age that makes a design product stand out, but the special construction.

But here, too, individual exceptions confirm the rule. As an example, we would like to mention again the already mentioned mahogany cabinet, which dates from the first half of the 20th century.
