SAMMLUNG ALLER DENKMALE DES WESTPHÄLISCHEN FRIEDENS "Sammlung aller Denkmale des Westphälischen Friedens, welche vom Jahre 1650 an, biß 1789 buchstäeblich in biblischen Friedens-Gemählden, der Evangelischen Schuljugend zu Augsburg ausgetheilt worden sind", collection of ca. 124 single sheets, copper engraving illustration and text part each mounted to one sheet and bound. Signs of age, damaged and partly glued. SINCE 1650 the Children's Peace Festival was celebrated annually on August 8th in Augsburg. A leaflet, the "peace painting", was distributed to the children, usually consisting of a large-format copperplate engraving with historical, biblical or allegorical depictions and a longer text section, usually in verse. The collection contains a summary of the individual depictions on the commemorative sheets, the paintings and, in some cases, commemorative poems.
