Signs of age, damaged and partly glued. SINCE 1650 the Children's Peace Festival was celebrated annually on August 8th in Augsburg. A leaflet, the "peace painting", was distributed to the children, usually consisting of a large-format copperplate engraving with historical, biblical or allegorical depictions and a longer text section, usually in verse. The collection contains a summary of the individual depictions on the commemorative sheets, the paintings and, in some cases, commemorative poems.
