Chinoiserie table lamp, around 1920. Figural bronze lamp base in the shape of a scholar riding the waves on the back of a dragon. The lampshade is made of parchment leather and attached to a solid bronze arm in such a way that it allows the lampshade to tilt backwards at an angle, which is intended to depict the movement and dynamics of riding waves in the wind. The seal on the underside reads “Hans Zametzer-Bronce-Kunstwerkstätten München Obermenzing”. Height with lampshade and oval wooden base: approx. 54 cm. Signs of age and use, dam.
