Description
Blue and white porcelain dragon vase. CHINA, around 1900 or earlier. bulbous form with a pair of ring handles in the shape of dragons applied to the shoulder. Painted underglaze blue all around with 4 seasonal floral motifs: on the front with crysanthemums, on the back with peonies, on one side with lotus blossoms, on the other side with a gnarled branch with plum blossoms. The vase is reinforced with a metal ring around the rim of the mouth. Underglaze blue mark on the base. H: approx. 35 cm, dam.
