7-volume collection of various works on natural history and natural science, mid-18th to early 19th century, predominantly German-language publications, including school textbooks and educational works as well as scholarly literature. Included are ‘Les Animaux Quadrupèdes ovipares et les serpens’, Paris c. 1785, Bechstein’s “Kurzgefasste gemeinnützige Naturgeschichte des In- und Auslandes” (Leipzig, 1792), Funke’s “Naturgeschichte und Technologie für Lehrer in Schulen und für Liebhaber tiefer Wissenschaften” (Vienna, 1808, Volumes I and II), as well as its complete extract (Braunschweig, 1796), Oken’s “Allgemeine Naturgeschichte für alle Stände”, Stuttgart 1838, and Jäger’s ‘Life in Water and the Aquarium’, Hamburg 1868. Some volumes feature woodcuts and coloured plates. Bindings have all been restored, with stains, wormholes, tears and pages that are partly damaged or browned, showing signs of age and wear.
