CORE-PIECE ENSEMBLE IN NEO-ROCOCO STYLE
Probably Hanau or Southern Germany, marked “K.V.” Three-piece coffee service consisting of a coffee pot, sugar bowl, and cream jug. Made of 800 silver. Bulbous, pear-shaped bodies resting on four volute feet. The surface is decorated all around with hand-raised diagonal fluting. The coffee pot features a raised hinged lid crowned by a gadrooned finial above an insulating ring. Curved handle with bone or plastic insulators to protect against heat transfer. The bases are stamped with the fineness mark “800,” crescent moon and crown hallmarks, maker’s mark “K.V.,” and the additional designation “HANDARBEIT” (“handcrafted”). Coffee pot height: 20 cm. Total weight: 782 g.Very good age-related condition with light patina.
