Description
GERMANY “Ceremonial Serving Set with Heraldic Ornamentation”
Late 19th / early 20th century. Silver, fineness 800. A two-piece ensemble consisting of a large cake server and a matching serving spoon. The serving spoon has a gadrooned bowl with an ornamental border. Both pieces are fitted with elaborately designed handles in the form of fully sculptural heraldic cartouches. The coat of arms is divided into several fields, including eagles, lions, and other heraldic symbols, surmounted by three helmets with crests and surrounded by rich acanthus and strapwork ornamentation.
Length of the cake server: approx. 26 cm. Material: Silver 800. Total weight: approx. 204 g. Very good age-related condition with slight patina.
