Description
BRUCKMANN & SÖHNE “Vermeil Ice Service”
Heilbronn, circa 1890–1900. Silver 800, completely fire-gilded. A magnificent Historicist ensemble consisting of: 12 ice cream spoons, 1 large serving spoon (ice server), 1 ice knife (with filled silver handle). All handles are designed as twisted rope shafts and terminate in sculptural maskaron heads and ornamental volutes. The blade of the knife features a fine, period-typical floral engraving. The reverse of each piece is marked with the fineness “800,” the German Reich hallmark (crown and crescent moon), and the maker’s mark (eagle) of the Bruckmann & Söhne manufactory in Heilbronn. Total weight: approx. 286 g (without the knife, due to hollow handle)
Material: Silver 800, fully fire-gilded. Excellent condition with original gilding very well preserved and only minimal signs of age.
