Oil on canvas, signed and dated “Matysiak 1962” lower left, typographically labeled “SORAYA 7477 Original / Artist: Walter Matysiak” on the reverse of the stretcher with the original gallery or studio label. An abstract composition characteristic of Matysiak's middle creative phase in finely graded earth tones, ochre, and off-white. The work captivates with its division of space, in which biomorphic forms and geometric segments enter into an exciting dialogue. Accentuated splashes of color in blue and orange lend depth and luminosity to the rhythmic structure, HxW: 41/67 cm. Original condition with age-appropriate patina, the canvas is stable, minimal edge wear due to framing, framed in a light wood frame, HxW: 48/72 cm.
