The present work by the artist Heidi Foerster impresses with a lively, almost lyrical use of color, characteristic of her work in the 1960s. With a confident, expressive touch, Foerster captures the cubic architecture of the mountain village, which integrates organically into the steep hillside. Particularly noteworthy is the play with the transparency of the watercolor: the deep blue mountain ranges in the background give the composition a remarkable depth, while the loose, almost sketch-like color accents in the foreground create a Mediterranean light atmosphere.
