Heidi Foerster (born 1932) “Abstract Composition,” 1968
Mixed media on paper. 53 × 70 cm (sheet size). 55 × 72 cm. Monogrammed and dated lower right: HF 68. A dynamic, vertically oriented composition executed in a translucent mixed-media technique. In this work, Foerster translates impressions of nature into a rhythmic abstraction in cool tones of blue, green, and yellow. The piece stands out for its atmospheric density and the free, watercolor-like application of paint characteristic of the late 1960s.
