A pair of allegorical figures, “Autumn” and “Summer”, by MEISSEN, 20th century, From a series of ‘Four Seasons’; designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler in the 1760s, the ‘Autumn’ figure depicts a putto with grapes, model no. 2716, (some flowers and leaves damaged, sickle missing), H 13 cm; the “Summer” figure depicts a putto with grain and a sickle, model no. A 67, (grain slightly damaged, sickle and cloth restored), Knauf sword mark between 1880–1924, H 13.5 cm, both first choice.
