Pastel on paper, depiction of an elderly gentleman with a gray full beard and mustache, in three-quarter view facing left, the subject wears a dark felt hat and a brown fur or coat collar over a light-colored vest and shirt, the calm, concentrated facial expression and the restrained tonal background draw the eye to the finely modeled face, characteristic features include the sensitive treatment of skin tones and beard areas as well as the differentiated texture of the clothing, HxW: 64/46 cm. Framed behind glass, HxW: 80/63 cm.
