LONGHI, Pietro, WORKSHOP/ CIRCLE (P.L.: 1702 - 1785), ‘The Apothecary’, oil on canvas, relined. HxW: approx. 43.5 x 35.5 cm (HxW frame: approx. 50 x 42.5 cm). Signs of age and rubbing, craquelure, minimal colour losses, soiling. With frame (slight damage). NOTE: Longhi's work with the same title from 1752 is in the collection of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice. The present version of the social scene shows only minor deviations in the composition, but is executed with less detail overall.
