EMPIRE PENDULE WITH DATE DISPLAY, Vienna, circa 1820, blackened sheet brass case, pedestal base on four paw feet with a rounded movement case above, the visible side decorated with fire-gilt bronze appliqués in an antique style and eagle crown, the front with engine-turned dial with internal date display, inscribed on the outer chapter ring: ' Joh. Ellforth in Wien', movement with thread suspension and Viennese strike at ¼ hour on two gongs. HxWxD: 34.5/15.5/11 cm. Slight signs of age and use, functional in the short test, striking mechanism does not trigger in normal operation, but functional via the manual striking mechanism.
