Item number: 1031394

Autographs - 2 letters from the son of JUSTINUS KERNER (1786-1862), THEOBALD KERNER (1817-1907). The doctor and poet completed the legacy of his famous father and also administered his estate. He extended the Weinsberg Kernerhaus. Both handwritten letters are addressed to one of Kerner's confidants, Paul Bernecker, born in 1853, who is said to have been a friend. The same man may have looked after the house and garden in Weinsberg while Kerner was away traveling. In this letter, Kerner announces the arrival of various flowering plants and mentions his design plans to Bernecker. In addition to the two letters, one undated but written in Höllsteig, the other dated Stuttgart February 23, 1883, Bernecker's military passport and the Bernecker family Bible are also offered.
