CARL TIELSCH/SILESIA coffee cup, 1875-1883, large coffee mug with a beige background and a white flower relief cut out on the front side, H 8.5 x D 9 cm, gilding is hardly present anymore, strong traces of corrosion from the salt water, despite everything in relatively good condition. The cup was recovered from the shipwreck of the 'Cimbria' in 2001. The Cimbria was a German passenger and mail steamer owned by Hapag Lloyd that sank off Borkum on January 19, 1883 on the journey from Hamburg to New York.
