Puderblau glasierte Chrysanthemenschale. CHINA, wohl Quianlong Dynastie

Powder-blue glazed chrysanthemum bowl. CHINA, probably Qianlong dynasty. Porcelain bowl in the shape of a blooming chrysanthemum on a short footring. The narrow petals are arranged in a radial pattern around the recessed centre. The powder-blue glaze was frequently used for monochrome bowls during the Qing Dynasty and is a cobalt-based glazing technique in which the powdered pigment is dusted onto the porcelain body prior to glazing, resulting in a soft, iridescent hue. The underside is glazed white and unmarked. D: 20 cm. According to the consignor, the bowl was acquired in Brighton in the 1960s/70s.
