Oriental carpet. MUD/PERSIA, 20th century, 405x304 cm. The centre is dominated by a dark blue and a beige hexagon. The entire background of the central field is covered with a net-like ‘mahi-to-hosh’ motif. It consists of diamonds, each containing a water lily and surrounded by four fish. The bright indigo blue main border is patterned with a turtle design. Signs of age and wear, slightly stained and damaged at the edges, particularly in the fringe area.
