Letter opener with coin shaft and sapphire trim, GG, 18 K. -
Engraving on the blade side ‘Goldemann Hamburg’, on the other narrow side hallmark “G” and engraving ‘18 Kt’. Manufactured by Goldemann Hamburg.
Letter opener shaft consisting of 1 x Monaco -100 Francs 1904/A, Prince Albert I., ss, clearly worn, numerous scratches, 900 Au, 32.2g Au rough, 29.03g fine gold. A semicircular setting connects the blade to the shaft, which is decorated on one side with sapphire squares in a channel setting, on which is the capital letter ‘A’, total weight 121.1g, total fine weight: 95.7g fine gold. Object length: 19 cm. Accompanied by a fitted original case from Goldemann Hamburg. Perhaps once a gift? A written confirmation of origin from the grandson is included.
