The daimyo are the rulers of feudal Japan, whose coats of arms often depict plants or animals. The crane is a symbol of happiness and long life. Here it is framed by ginkgo leaves and the crossing of samurai swords, which are the instruments of battle and hara-kiri and thus represent the bravery and honour of the princes of the rising sun. 90 x 90 cm.
