ROLEX Vintage Submariner 'RedSub' Ref. 1680 'MK6' with box and papers, 1972. Stainless steel Oyster case with a screw-down crown, fully adjustable compression bezel, and drilled lugs, 2.5M serial number. Automatic movement Cal. 1570 with excellent working order (+2 s/d, 259° amplitude) and a new, replaced rotor. Matte black tritium MK6 dial with red “Submariner” lettering and beautiful, even patina, original Mercedes hands with tritium luminescent material, center lollipop seconds hand, and silver “Open 6/9” date disc under a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock (Ref. 1680 is the first Submariner with date). Stainless steel Oyster bracelet with diver’s extension and safety folding clasp Ref. 9315 with 380-type end links; clasp stamped 3/72. Very good condition; finish and edges clearly visible. Original Rolex certificate from 04/1972, box and hangtag enclosed. Diameter approx. 40 mm measured without crown. Fits a wrist circumference of up to approx. 19 cm (22 cm with diver’s extension).
