Description
PARIS/VIENNA, glass with silver mount, circa 1830. It is made of fine, slightly ribbed crystal glass with a gold rim and a gold-plated silver mount. The glass comes from the Viennese trading house Josef Lobmeyer and has a lattice mark on the underside as the company logo. The glass is approx. 12.5 cm high and has a small chip on the rim. The gold rim is rubbed. The gold-plated silver mount with pearl and cord decoration and a framed monogram was made by Pierre-Noël Blaquière and is hallmarked with the master's mark, the fineness mark (950) and the guarantee mark (Paris). The glass was probably part of a travel set, as was customary at the time. Pierre-Noel Blaquière was famous for his luxurious travel accessories.
