FINNISH COFFEE SERVICE IN NEOROCOCO STYLE
Hämeenlinna, Kultakeskus Oy, 1977. Silver 830/1000. Three-piece set consisting of a coffee pot, sugar bowl, and cream jug. The bodies are shaped with curved, pear-like forms standing on four leaf-decorated volute feet. The front sides are finely chased with rocaille and floral motifs. The coffee pot has a hinged lid topped with a pine cone finial. Hallmarks: national control mark (crown in heart), fineness mark 830H, manufacturer’s mark (crouching lion for Kultakeskus Oy), year letter Z7 for 1977. Height of the coffee pot approx. 24 cm. Total weight: 857 g. Kultakeskus Oy, founded in 1918 in Hämeenlinna, is one of Finland’s most important manufacturers of precious metalware and is known for combining traditional silversmithing with classical design.
