ZENITH very rare double signed open face pocket watch with alarm function for Henri Blanc Genéve. Mary B. Longyear. 18 K Gold, incl. dust lid, case number 205999, dust lid with inscription 'CARROLL PAUL, Mary B. Longyear. MARQUETTE, MICH.' Mary Beecher Longyear (December 21, 1851 – March 14, 1931) was an American philanthropist and wife of John Munro Longyear, a wealthy businessman. She funded the first King James Version of the Bible in Braille and was a patron of the arts, education and benevolent organizations. (source: wikipedia.org). Gold-plated manaual wound movement with 2 barrels (one for time-display, second one for the alarm), alarm by one hammer on gong, bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet-hairspring, sign. 'ZENITH', alarm working, moevemnt dry, doesn't wind down, service necessary. Metal dial with arabic numerals, sign. 'HENRI BLANC; GENÈVE', blued cathedral hands, lume replaced in the past. Very good condition, light signs of wear on case and dial. Box by Alb. Bessire-Kummer in Winterthur enclosed. Diameter ca. 48mm without crown.
