Souvenir medallion brooch set with diamond roses,

Souvenir medaillon brooch with rose-cut diamonds, turquoises and half pearls, black enamelled, finely painted miniature portrait of a young man in the medallion, 18K yellow gold, 53.3 g, 7x4 cm, oval medallion framed by a mourning band with floral decoration and with a memorial motto, enamelled ivy-wreathed cross and tears on the reverse, dated 1 July 1862, probably France 2nd half 19th century, very good condition due to its age, in an original antique moulded case, extremely fine and solid workmanship, museum quality.
