Libri Duo, Toul 1618', 'De Gemitu Columbae, sive de bono lacrymarum, libri tres, Cologne 1628'. Roberto Bellarmino (1542-1621) was a theologian and cardinal. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Book provenance: Domus Lugdunensis Soc. Jesu/ JHS stamp from the 17th century. Ownership mark MJL Froereisen at the beginning of the book. Froereisen was a Protestant theologian who worked near Strasbourg in the 17th/18th century. In hist. parchment binding with red edges and handwritten title on the spine. With signs of age and usage, discoloration, handwritten notes in the book, loss on one page, water stains, creases.
