Oriental carpet. 'HEREKE' CHINA, 20th century, ca. 280x187 cm. Cream-white, florally patterned medallion carpet with an oval central medallion and corresponding corner fillings. The main border is patterned throughout with cartouches and floral motifs. Approx. 1,000,000 knots per square metre. Signs of age and wear, partially stained. Acquired in Düsseldorf in 1998.
